Record a purchase
Enter a supplier's invoice for stock or goods you bought. Scan it and Duitbooks fills in most of the form.
Before you start: Add the supplier and the products you bought. Keep the supplier's invoice as a PDF or photo.
Steps
- 1Go to Purchases › Pending Review and click Create.
- 2Click Scan invoice to auto-fill and pick the supplier's invoice (PDF, JPG or PNG).
- 3Check the Supplier, Invoice Date, Payment Terms and Due Date the scan filled in.
- 4Pick the Branch and enter the supplier's invoice number as the Reference No.
- 5Under E-Invoice, pick Submitted if the supplier issued the e-invoice, then paste the Supplier e-Invoice UUID. Pick Self-billed if you issue it for them.
- 6Under Items, pick a product for any line marked in red, and check the quantities.
- 7Set the status to Completed once you've checked it, then click Create Purchase.

Tip: No supplier found after the scan? Duitbooks tells you the name it read. Pick the right supplier from the list, or add them first.
FAQ
Purchase or expense: which do I use?
Use a purchase for products you buy and track. Use an expense for bills without products, like rent, utilities or services.
The scan didn't work.
Duitbooks shows a message if it can't read the invoice. Fill in the purchase by hand instead.
What does a completed purchase do?
Pending purchases count toward what you owe the supplier. Completed ones also show in your P&L, payments and e-invoicing.
